BLUE HERON ADDITION
The Blue Heron house is located on Lake Oswego that has a daylight basement opening onto a sloping lawn before meeting the water’s edge. The renovation included expanding the upper level into the attic space as well as expanding the footprint starting on the main level towards the street.
Below shows the main level plan that includes expanding the less than ideal kitchen into a much larger footprint complete with an island. The bedroom and existing children’s bath was expanded, and an additional powder room was added for guests.
The plans below show the before and after plans of the upper level floor plan. The newly expanded space contains a bonus room, office, and the primary bedroom suite complete with a walk-in closet, water closet, and spacious bathroom. A Juliet balcony off the primary bedroom allows a larger than normal unblocked view of the lake.
Preliminary sketches of the upper level floor plan including street facing facade and lake facing facade studies.
